You don’t need to break the bank or spend thousands of dollars on spa facials to get great skin. If you make these 5 habits part of your daily skin routine, you can have youthful, glowing skin too.
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Most of us know that the skin is the largest organ on our body, which is why it must be taken care of. Whether you live in a dry or humid climate, moisturizing is crucial for healthy skin. You don’t have to do anything fancy. Just apply a simple moisturizer to your face, once in the morning and once at night. And don’t forget to hydrate from the inside too!
2. Protect your skin from the sun.
We know, you’ve heard it before – but we really can’t stress it enough. Not only does applying sunscreen reduce wrinkles, but it also helps protect you from skin cancer. Whether you burn easily or not, wear this all year long to protect your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Over-exposure to the sun is the fastest way to get irreversible skin damage and nobody wants that.
3. Make a nightly cleansing ritual a habit.
Ladies – do your best to NEVER go to sleep with makeup on. Be sure to cleanse your skin with your favourite every day. Try not to over-cleanse if you have dry or sensitive skin.
4. Use a face mask every week.
If you’re oily or acne prone, using a detoxifying charcoal or clay-based mask will help pull out toxins from the skin. If you’re more likely to experience dry skin, then opt for masks hydrating sheet masks.
5. Gently exfoliate.
It’s important to exfoliate your skin often to remove dead skin cells. You can softly massage a scrub into your face for 30 seconds and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Alternatively, many women are switching to a gentle exfoliating brush that can even help reduce appearance of pores and tighten skin.
