Ingredient highlight: Sodium Hyaluronate & Hyaluronate Acid

There’s so much buzz around these ingredients lately, I’ve even bought a hyaluronic acid face wash to try! I live in a relatively humid country so dry skin is never really an issue!

Sodium Hyaluronate and Hyaluronate Acid are pretty much the same thing. They are used as humectants - they help to draw out moisture which in turn keeps your skin moisturized. They're often found in water-based skin care and helps to boost hydration levels aka great for dry skin.

Once you use a product with this ingredient, it revitalizes your skin's surface, giving it an 'immediate' refreshed look! One of the differences between the two is that sodium hyaluronate is a smaller molecule which absorbs into your skin easier.

They are both gentle ingredients and suitable for all skin types - even sensitive and acne prone skin! It's known to be able to hold up to 1000 times their weight in water aka extreme hydration anyone?

Have you used any sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronate acid products before?

Check out Souffle beauty's probiotic duo - toner and serum which contains sodium hyaluronate.

XOXO
